Indeed.. there's not even a picture of it!
IMO, a GT is only worth 450 if it's complete in box with manuals and disks and in good condition.

Damn... I wouldn't even pay 450 if it came with a V9990. There's been a bundle of Turbo-R's on ebay for around 150. And even then one of them didn't sell...

Even I wouldn't sell my defective Wavy FD2 for that price

There were a few Sony MSX2+ computers for sale at 75 euros. I bid on one of them but lost by one euro, how classic... At the same time there was a Turbo-R (I think an ST) for 150 euros that had to go on auction twice in order to get sold. Later there was a GT for 150 euros but it was sold pretty quickly. I tend to look from time to time to amaze myself with today's prices...

Prices are sometimes amazing.
Back then I bought my Sanyo Wavy 70FD2 for 250 guilders.
A new Turbo-R at that time was around 1200 guilders.
So only IF that machine on Ebay is brandnew sealed and fresh from the factory, then I would gladly pay 450 pleuries.
The problem I found with 'old' machines (MSX2 and 2+) is that they mysteriously brake down without you knowing it. For example, I took my 8250 back from my parents place.
At home I found out that the cardridge slot connector and the diskdrive were not connected anymore. Even I can't recall wether I dissassambled it or not. At least I can't find a reason to do so. And my Wavy, well.. don't even want to start about it.. hey the leds go on, but thats all I have been able to test (I'm too lazy to hook it onto my philips monitor that is on my attic.
So, If someone has a 2+ / TR for sale for a nice price, and the machine is working, then I'm willing to pay for it...
BTw, Sonic: what auction was it?

Hmmm... Seems like I've paid too much for my FS-A1ST. I bought it somewhere in February 2003, and I paid 350,- euros for it. Needless to say, I had to buy an adapter (230->115V) which was as well 20,- euros...
On the other hand, the thing was in almost-mint condition. There was no box wrapped around it, unfortunately. The only thing is, the ink on the keys starts to wear off... |
