Hydlide for MSX1

I am playing Hydlide 1 for MSX1, but I have no idea of the commands. I have discovered that CURSOR keys move Diego (brilliant), and SPACE is the Attack button (or similar). Also, STOP key switches to pause mode (again, smart deduction), and the function keys (F1-F5) set different game speeds.

But I remember that there was a key to save into RAM the current game. Which one?

Any help out there?

Regards,

Ed Robsy

Right. There is not such thing as a save state, but there is a password system. Just to get the password, push SELECT button.

Better this way!

Yes, there is a save state function.

Guess how to use it? W: to write, R: to read. Really difficult to find.

And anyone knows what to do in this game? I think that it is very similar to the MSX2 version or the NES one. I have STR set to the max, and LIFE in 90% max.

I have 6 objects: sword, lamp, cross, flask, key and two cristals (I presume) one yellow and the other blue. I have also a fairy, but I do not know what to do next. Shall I find another items? How can I fight the dragon?

Help, please!

Well, I am still blocked. I cannot get the third fairy, and I have slashed more than 60 wizards. So, what can I do?

Who would be like that?!
What's ytterbium's gotta do with soldiers being optimized? It's just a piece of crap, if you ask me...

If you ask me, that abbreviation has a different meaning.

It means something that should be {moderated} if it were to be written out completely. Therefor I suggest we continue the discussion on-topic: Hydlide 1.

Please, do take the time to read our policies once more as people seem to be forgetting them more and more. Trust me, it's really not that hard

imho: the policies don't say anything that you have to be on topic.
to be on topic: I find Hydlide 1 (as well as Hydlide 2) hard to play cauz it is all in japanese. Are there any English translations planned for the future?

In the water you can find some more items, you need to cross it to get to the castle,
first kill everything in the water, attack the dragon in the belly, go to land, restore health, attack again, continu to do so, then enter castle.

You can always play Hydlide 3 which has English language support as well.
