what if you all just replace potentially harsch language with silly msx characters .. ?

so, instead of: 'you f*cking asshole' use: 'you silly penguin' .. or 'you rusty old metallion' etc.

ok ok .. silly .. , but you can fix most issues by avoiding potentially harsch language..

We can't do that to those Konami characters...

You claim you are a fluent english speaker and writer, so your claims about knowing the law mean nothing, if people look at the spanglish you call fluent.

I guess it's ok to be a racist in Netherland.

dhau.. (and now I am getting personal) watch your step. You are just passing my border if you call someone a racist while you know he is not!

I will retreat to the ever-growing #msxdev channel on Rizon network where I will continue my efforts of support.

I'm very sorry to see GuyveR800 has decided to retreat himself from the MRC forums as he has done so much already for the MSX community and I do hope he will return here one day to spread his wisdom with us.

I hope that you will return some day. You deserve the title of "MSX Guru" and you are the true "MSX encyclopedia" of these forums. Please reconsider your decision.

I still ask you to reconsider your decision: do not leave MSX.ORG forums because they are, nowadays, the center of the MSX community.

Please bare in mind that this is a public forum, where we all are a business card for the rest of the MSX scene.

I have yet to see a public forum where people do *not* get flamed once in a while, and I'm sure MSX Association knows that too.

should I go on?!
I rest my case...

Dhau:

Your'e overreacting...with google you find the following explanation:

'Spanglish is a hybrid "language" made up from Spanish by introducing English terms instead of translating them or by using wrong translations. We are specially concerned by this degradation of the Spanish language in the area of computer science and informatics.'

So please don't call somebody a racist so easily because it is a heavy accusation you made and also not justified. You really crossed the line there..

Explanation of Engrish:

Engrish.

'In Japan you will see many signs and products with english descriptions. At first glance they seem quite ordinary and normal blurbs of text. However upon closer inspection you will realise that many of the english you see, does not make any sense at all. And thus the word is born; "Engrish".
Lest there remain any doubt whatsoever in anyone's mind that the entire function of the English language in Japan is to serve as meaningless decoration.'

So not a racist word at all..

By the way, nobody can write perfect english, so big deal.

In dutch, we have a perfectly fitting word for this: 'BOEIEND!!!'

It's like 'I don't care', but then a couple of thousand times stronger...
