I can confirm the 4-digit value is indeed a checksum... A checksum for the high-score to be exact. However, it does change because of a counter that is increased once every 2 interrupts or so.

Nah, I still can sleep over this, but when someone mentions it, it gets you curious...

However, my guess you have a somewhat harder time sleeping with your daughter crying her lungs out every night

Anyway, thanks for elaborating this.

You are very welcome (Google is my friend )
And as for my daughter, well... Since she was born, April 28th, she woke us once around 05:30. For the rest, I have to wake her up every day around 07:30, so.. I am not complaining

[WYZ] said : "The next step is to know where is "James Burton" and his Director's chair , the winner score...

Well the I don't know where's the Director's chair but "James Burton" was an explorer that between years 1824 and 1826 realized many explorations in the King 's Valley in Egypt

The konami team take many ideas for games in historic facts like "king's Valley"Egypt), MoG(mythology), the Moais (EASTER ISLAND) in all Gradius

The Moai are not just in the Nemesis/Gradius titles. It's a very common character in several Konami titles, for example: Pippols, Q*Bert, Penguin Adventure, Usas and Maze of Galious.

And it's not just Maze of Galious that's in the mythology... It starts with Knightmare.
