You confuse e-mail harvesting bots with trojans. Bots are gathering e-mails from the web and newsgroups. Trojans are using to create smap relays, i.e. to send unsolicited e-mails from clueless users PCs.

I don't think that Microsoft sucks. They are agressive, and they are protective about their dominant position in the market, but it's not something abnormal.

I like .NET platform and Xbox line of products. At the same time I struggle to learn to use enough free software to eventually dump any Microsoft products on my PC (OS, Office, development tools etc.)
