That part about the CF disks is quite right I guess, but 32MB is in most cases not enough for a movie transfer

I wasn't talking about the CF size, but more about the maximum partition size in FAT12 ... Well... Maybe if the FAT16 512MB CF is clean (never used), it would work to put an EVA on that

Legacy, I just got official permission from snout, to put my A1ST in place at the MRC stand, so I suggest you get yourself at the MRC stand @ Bussum 2K4 for a nice EVA demonstration. And ro, if you actually happen to be there as well, I'd be honoured to do that demonstration over once again ^_^...

So, see you @ Bussum!

I'll say you this: buy a normal ATA-IDE, or a MEGA-SCSI for all that matters, 'cos a flash card is too small to record all your EVA recordings I usually burn an EVA set to CD.

Yes, CD is also easy option as you don't have to worry about fragments.

a bit offtopic, but I usually use this most exellent free movie to show, MSX power to my non MSX oriented friends. :-)

ok i have als a SCSI interface for Turbo-R (MSX club Gouda) and a external SCSI CD-Rom.
I only need a cable to connect both, does any of you now where i can get that cable?

Your SCSI CD-ROM could be fitted with several SCSI connections... There's quite a lot of them for external devices...

If you ask me, the easiest would be to open the SCSI CD-ROM (well, the housing at least), and get rid of the external connector, if you can... Don't break too much tho ^^; Inside the housing, the CD-ROM uses a normal 50-pin cable like you use for SCSI harddisks.

You can also ask someone (maybe your local PC shop will do it) to make you an internal-to-external SCSI cable, but you will need to show them your SCSI drive's connector.

Since SCSI rules, you can get a reasonably long cable (mine is 4 meters ^^; ) and press in connectors at different places later.

Yours,

  • MSX2 with V9990 and OPL1 (MSX-Audio w/ Sample RAM), (which doesn't work at all with files on CD-ROM) - V9EVAIDE.COM
  • MSX2+ with OPL1 (which DOES work with files on CD-ROM - EVAIDE.COM
  • MSX Turbo R (which uses PCM for sound, and V9958 for display), (which DOES work with files on CD-ROM) - EVAIDE.COM
All these systems use a Sunrise ATA-IDE. It should as well work with MEGA-SCSI (*only* MEGA-SCSI), but since I don't own any SCSI-interface, I can't really tell...
