Hi all,

I'm looking for an Arabic MSX computer, like Al Alamiah. At the moment I own several more or less exotic MSX computers from Brasil, Japan and Russia and I realy like to add an Arabic computer.

Tips are welcome...

Aren't all Arabic MSX machines produced by Yamaha and resemble YIS-503 ?

According to the MSX Hardware FAQ the Sakhr/Universal/Al Alamiah are buid by Sanyo and Yamaha indeed.

Then again, most (if not all) Philips MSX's were built by Sanyo and Kyocera, so there

Yup, they are the same except that on e.g. the AX-370 you have the Sakhr logo starting up like the MSX logo on a MSX2 machine... neat.
Plus de Arabic keyboard makes it very special.

BTW, if someone has a double AX-990 from Sakhr (the one with the Sega MegaDrive cartridge slot and 50 built-in programs) - I am more than interested.

These ones really look like our Russian YIS-503 Yamaha's.

even shows Yamaha Painter (found also in YIS-805R) on the screen !

AX100 looks like some older Yamaha MSX (don't remember the ID)
Others are very different (and I think they look like some other MSXes sold in Europe), you can see them in the same dir.

In short, there were only 2 designs for russian MSXes, and much more for arabic ones... I'm jealous
