Personally I think the so called MSX revival won't take place at all. The only ones who are interested are the few die hard MSX users that still walk around the planet. Actually I like the idea of developing new hard- and software and produce it on larger scales, but there's one day when you have to stop believing in fairy tales.
Maybe if they develop a machine which is MSX compatible, but has extra modes for very high speeds, superb graphics and sound, new people will join the club. I think the old Philips add-on card (a fully working MSX 2 in your PC) wasn't such a bad idea after all.

And now you can have a fully working Turbo-R on your PC with advanced emulators like blueMSX and openMSX !
Really better than the Philips 'solution' |

There's still a lot of work which has to be done on the emulators. They get close, but it's still not 100% accurate (and I wonder if it ever will be).

I think the future of msx is depending all to emulators for pc (and apple...) and maybe gameconsoles because the msx productivity is almost stop 15 years ago...if u like to get a new generation welcome the msx then lets develoment the emulators to the perfect! Because how many original msx systems will be there over 10 or 20 years u think? pc will always be there and that means that if the msx emulators and software will be online the msx will survive, maybe even for the interest of next generations...(i hope)

What that thingy was called which allow you to play MSX carts with PC?
Welllll.... I (maybe) buy one of these when most of MSXs are too dead to repair and prices of any living (repaired) MSXs are so high I cannot purchase them anymore.

Well... dhau, if your MSX is dead and you want to play with it again, you bring it to MSX guru, who has seen the light...
so... if your socks are dead (and propably most of people near you...! ) and you want to wear them again, you bring them to SOCK guru, who has seen the light...
;D it´s so easy...! |
