BodyHammer sent us this link for the MSX in the Media challenge, but as the game was released in 2003 it can't be considered a vaild entry. However, this thing is to cool to let go.

The Neo Geo game Matrimelee by Playmore/Noise Factory/Atlus of which you can read a review right here contains a nice reference to MSX. In Arena 5 (The Gamers, Fighting Games for Young People) you can see some people wearing MSX shirts in the background. You can see a screenshot yourself (including the reviewer talking about MSX) on this page.

Interesting detail: Kazuhiko Nishi, the father of MSX, is said to sponsor several freefight contests every now and then.

Well spotted, BodyHammer!

That would make no (or at least: less) sense as the theme of the arena is 'The Gamers, Fighting games for young people'

Screenshots can trick you easily.

Especially since:

1) Screen grabbed from Neo Geo
2) screen manhandled to fit page
3) screen manhandled again to fit MRC page

Don't worry ro, it REALLY says 'MSX' on those shirts

Wasn't the NeoGeo the one game console which contains some MSX technique further developed from the Turbo-R?
