Thank you for your cool work, Sharksym! Do you have a PCB layout gerber files? May be even for smd chips?
I want to make your device, by ordering PCBs online from the likes of www.pcbex.com/ or www.pcbfabexpress.com/, and then soldering all the components. My problem is I don't have skill to make gerber files based on your schematics... |

Sharksym, how did you make PNG with schematics? Did you use Eagle by any chance? If yes, Eagle can route traces based on schematics and desired component layout. I would love to get the sch file then |

dhau, I used just ORCAD to draw schematics.
Is its data file(*.dsn) helpful for you?

Is there some one still has interests on this device?
Here's latest BIOS v3.10.
|
Yes, of course I'm interest!!!
I bough one of the Padial SD/MMC interfaces. AFAIK it is based on your design, isn't it?
http://www.msx.org/LPE-MMC-V6-and-DRSDMMC-driver.newspost4604.html
Is it possible to use your BIOS v3.10 on the LPE-MMC-V6? Is it just a matter of updating the BIOS?

I don't know exactly what is different among Padial's several versions of LPE-MMC.
As I know, LPE-MMC is up-graded hardware from my old design (MMC/SD Drive HW V1).
But its Bios is still compatible with my one.
Now MMC/SD BIOS v3.10 supports HW V1 and newer HW V2.x.
I think it may work with LPE-MMC as HW V1 compatible mode.
Please, be noticed that compatible mode doesn't support 2slot card and ROM-banking protection and high speed mode.
Due to a old HW design
Does your LPE-MMC have AT29C040A?
I'm not sure that LPE-MMC still use same type of flashrom.
If another type flashrom is used, Drive B will work as READ-ONLY disk
Please, try my BIOS on your LPE-MMC. It'll be a easy answer, I think. |

Is there anyone interested in a PCB for version 1 of Sharksyms MMC/SD Drive? As I have a design ready to be manufactured. It is based on the SCC chip so you need to have one available. Also there is no DAC present in the drawing so you cannot use it as SCC flash cartridge or what so ever.

I got my PCBs in yesterday and prepared one. It works great, can use the SD card as either a floppy emulator or hard disk
Also I added the option for the DAC from konami so you can use it as SCC flashrom although the flash loader program from sharksym is not so sofisticated as romload from TNI.
Some images of the first PCB
Note that all ICs are put on sockets for test purposes and the yellow wire will be replaced with a switch just like a flash scc has so you can switch of the ROM
