Thank you very much for your kind words, viejo_archivero. We will do our best to live up to the high expectations and to prove that both Bazix and MSX Association have nothing but best intentions for the MSX Community.

As for releasing software for real MSX computers: As much as we'd like to ourselves, at this stage of the project it's not possible to re-release old software for MSX. I hope we can start doing this as one of the 'next steps' though. Just as happened with the Japanese revival it all starts with a Project-EGG like website (WOOMB) and it can take quite a while before it is possible to take the next step, depending on the success of WOOMB.net.

Well, I made a topic on Tweakers.net (a huge Dutch internet forum concerning computers). I've done this to inform more people about this interesting project. Please read it an correct any errors I might have made

You can find the topic here. Enjoy!

MSX logo that bazix licences appears to be FAKE!!!

chica.xs4all.nl/~rolex/msxlogo.png
(This logo is an exact copy of the one found on the BAZIX website. Only the red circle and text are added.)

The red mark indicates the place where you can see that the logo has been traced!
So legally you have to pay a licence fee for using this fake MSX logo.
But the ORIGINAL LOGO can be used for free.

I'm glad I can tell you that the legality of the MSX logo isn't determined by its form of appearance, let alone the composition of some pixels. The MSX logo that is licensed, is the logo in its most general form. That is, if it is recognizable as an MSX logo, it is subject to the policies MSX Association set out (and we represent). Even if it were a purple logo with green spots on it, it would still remain to be an officially by MSX Association owned trademark/logo In other words: the logo we offer on our website is not the one and only valid MSX logo, but just an image people who would like to use the MSX logo can use themselves (in the near future the MSX logo will probably be published in other (vector) formats). The logo that can be found on our site actually is nothing more or less than a 'service'. The rules apply to the very MSX logo in general.

You can't read, can you?
You don't have to pay a license fee for the MSX logo in the most common circumstances.

/me is going to put the MSX logo and some disclaimer texts on his website... I bet it'll look cool ;p.

Funny thing by the way, that that MSX logo picture is 512x212 pixels in size.

The MSX2, 2+ and turboR logo will be added in the (very) near future. Other logo's like MSX-MUSIC and MegaROM will follow a bit later.

Didn't the same count @ MSX Association? I mean, they're having their website online for quite some time now, and what we only can find is some wicked MSX PLAYer logo and MSX logo, furthermore, nothing! I find it a bit weird, since ASCII's MSX Magazine contained a sticker paper with (yes!) the MSX2/2+ and turboR logo. So that means MSX Association must have them around ~somewhere~...

/me wants a turboR logo badly!
