I also ordered the game through BOL.COM, but it's really hard to finish..

I',m at the end of level 3 where you get like 4 end bosses one after each other.. the last one (i think) is really a pain in the a**

yup (found it now ), the first 2 bosses in the second level have the salamander music.
(that level reminded me of Nemesis 3's time travel level (level 4) btw.)

Gradius V is in fact not developed by Konami but by Treasure. However, Treasure are really good at these kind of games and Treasure does have Konami roots. Some years ago a few Konami employees decided to start their own company to be able to create games they like. Hence Treasure's birth.

I was wondering, what configuration for the Multiples do you guys use? I think all have some advantage in specific parts of the game, but generally I use type 3 (spacing).

I asked at several locations and apparantly the european release date of this game is 'unknown'. Stores ordered it, and it has supposed to be released already, none of them have received it alread and no new release date has been set. In other words: we just have to wait, I'm afraid.

I always use the directional options, combined with lasers they are kick-ass!

Just wave them on the screen a bit and everything will get toasted Great for easy powerups 'n stuff.. Also great for boss enemies, like that spider thingy...

I finished it too... on easy though took me 3 credits ultimatly... the last stage is a bit of a disappointment though, same as stage 3, but then slightly more difficult.

glad i finished it... now i can choose my own weapons (including weapons that weren't available in the standard 4 ships like Ripple Laser, Photon Torpedo and E.Laser, which is my favorite now )

the goal is to finish it at hard-setting, and hopefully i get more than just a credits scroll this time

Then tell me how does it make sens that the better game shops do have it.

I think it's just the fact that some stores didn't initially ordered it because they thought it wouldn't sell (Just a 2d game !).

well, it's a bit strange indeed; it seems only available at specialized gameshops, whereas R-Type Final is (still) available in most common stores

Has anyone gotten anywhere with the fireblaster? That weapon is so incredibly hard to use, because it's so short range!
