I think it would be wise to have some communication between ppl about this topic and have GuyveR800 back.

Could someone explain why exactly he is perm banned, don't you think banning a such active msx user is a bit rude ?

At least it would be good to have people involved in this behavior discussing the problem and find a less humiliating solution to solve the problem imho.

Thanks you in advance.

Why don't you mail the site admins for more information? The last thing we need (IMHO) is going over this again and again.

Insiders know this is not the first time GuyveR800 and MRC aren't on best terms. Things go way back. I don't think that discussing matters publically will get us a single step closer to finding a solution. In fact, I think it's more likely to make things worse (if possible :/). Besides, the reason why a certain topic was deleted from the MRC is because we don't tolerate the terms used in that thread anywhere on the MRC. No matter who they are coming from, no matter who they are pointed to. Banning someone is indeed an excessive (last) measure to take. In the case of Guyver800 all admins felt that measure was necessary.

If GuvyeR800 is willing to actually look for a solution he can contact us -as always- by e-mail. We'll go from there. There is a -lot- of damage to repair though.

and why there's still no private forums to discuss this between admins, mods and some people that want to contribute positively to a solution ?

and why don't I receive any answer when I make suggestions by e-mail ?

and why have we only Snout's answer on the forum on such delicate matters ?

I could continue .... but as already suggested (and not only by me) ... priority should be private forums for "selected" people (what means that admins and mods can freely choose amongst all MRC members)

Answers on delicate matters like these are almost always discussed internally. Heck, the post Snout did at 0:00 was discussed over MSN by the admins.

Probably so... And I do too, just as the whole MRC team does. How else could we take it?

Prolly 'cause all other admins are too sick and tired to 'defend' themselves all the time, no matter what it is they do...

The way you take it is up to you.
I am just suggesting having some communication about it
The problem ended between you bart and guyver, not between guyver and the whole MRC team if i may say so.

hmm.. interesting topic..
How else could we take it.. Well.. at least it shows how you took it.. But what I find disappointing, you guyz didn't really talk out the topic..

And to say 'If GuvyeR800 is willing to actually look for a solution he can contact us -as always- by e-mail. '.

How can he know to contact you by email while you, of MRC, are just standing aside and banned him so he can't even see this post?

mars2000you: We have discussed a private forum internally in the past, but we feel that the MRC is a website for -everybody-. Giving an elite group access to sections others can't doesn't feel very MRC-ish, that's all.

As for the suggestions you mailed: I receive hundreds of mails a day on multiple computers. Every now and then an e-mail slips through. If you have any suggestions for the MRC, it's best to mail them using the 'contact us'. That way all the admins and webmasters receive it and it most probably won't go overlooked. Of course, you can also use the 'MSX Resource Center' forums for suggestions at any time.

IC: As I stated above the problems between MRC and GuyveR800 go beyond a single forum topic. They go way back. We have the feeling that we have done an awful lot to keep communicating. To keep GuyveR800 (and all our other users) satisfied. As with the Odyssey-situation, we can only come to the conclusion that it's simply not possible to keep everybody happy.

As for GuyveR800 not being able to contact us by mail: We have communicated a lot in the past, I'm quite sure he hasn't forgotten our e-mail addresses.

btw.. about that private forum .. I don't think it's a bad idea actually. I'd call it 'government' .. like a country-government, or a village- or town-government.., made out of officials and ppl-representives. Does that make the country, village, or town 'not for everybody'? I don't think so.. if it can help to sort certain stuff out, why not? Anyway.. $0.02 .. I just support the idea, but you may as well put it at the street together with the domestic trash

(just watch out for cabdrivers!)
