Have you tried contacting Konami's tech support? |

Depends on the emulator.
But if you are using a real MSX, try Konami Game Master. |

Shalom doesn't work with Game Master 1. You need Game Master 2 for that. Then you can use SRAM as well. You can also save with a password, tape or disk.
Dunno yet how though, since the manual is in japanese.

A quick translation from my manual:
1. To save press [M] key to enter command mode
2. Use the cursor to select and confirm with [SPACE]
3. The following save modes are available:
- Password
- Tape
- Disk
- SRAM
(blah...blah...)

I could make up the selection being the last option of the second part, but I've tried that several times, with different people, since I couldn't get it to go to the actual save options.
[edit]I decided to boot up the game again, and found how to save... One screen to the left of your starting point, or from the castle entrance: one screen down and one screen left, you will find the person who can help you to save. If you select the option mentioned before the edit you'll see the list of save options.[/edit]

If you save on disk, take care to use an empty one as it will destroy other data otherwise |

In the original Rom, or dsk conversion, you can save the game in seven screens around the world (Save Game Administrators), with the last option (TODO). In the start Pampas Castle, one down, one left, is the first save game administrator.
But the Slot Man translated version have a bug, and the save disk game crash.
The saved game is a single 62 bytes file, named SHALOM, not a sector in your disk or HD (if you use MegaFlash for run).
You can get a 99% tranlated copy of rom in this adress :
http://www.kurarizeku.net/ftp/
Two versions :
SHALENG48.LZH -> Rom with ASCII8k Mapper
SHALENG4.LZH -> Rom wiith Original Konami 4 Mapper.
This versions are correct for save game.
This versions have a bonus : If you run pressing <H> the game run at 60hz in Pal MSX2. If you run pressing <P> you can play with a MSX2 new palette made by Sutchan.
