Has there ever been and "Advance Wars" type game released for MSX 2, if your not familiar with this game - it was for Gameboy Advance - it's a Turn-based strategy game with troops, tanks, planes etc.

The 'Wars' series started on the Famicom. The SD Gundam game mentioned here (actually: SD Gundam Gachapon Senshi 2') was also released on the Famicom.
Just thought you might wanted to know .
EDIT: the MSX2 version of SD Gundam Gachapon Senshi 2 (by Banpresto) is for sale on eBay courtesy of rklok /EDIT |

I used to play a game called Setonaika Wars a lot on my old MSX 2. It's a turn-based strategy game on a hexagonal tile board. I think there was even a map-editor. It's a lot of fun!

Yeah... Try MicroCabin's Daisenryaku, Super Daisenryaku or Daisenryaku II - Campaign version Great games. I recall having a Dutch fan translation of Daisenryaku, which I used to play a lot when I was little... |

For the less Japanese-linguistically informed: MicroCabin's Daisenryaku series is also known as 'Big Strategy' or 'Great Strategy'. The Campaign version I played was indeed Great, except for the fact that my NMS 8250 had helluvajob and took helluvalot of time to complete its turns, so I usually played against myself |

Yeah, Fire Emblem is a great game too - now if I only had the skills to code something like these two games myself...Dream on...
