I really don't know what [VR] does stand for exactly, but at least I know it's used to switch between an see-through mode (when your characters are covered by a wall, they will be copied w/ XOR w/ that wall, and so they become visible again. Same counts for your enemies) and a normal mode (in case your characters or enemies are covered by a wall, you won't be able to see them).

Never played Ashguine very long... Ashguine 2 does have some similarities with Undeadline, though.

About Hinotori: I can't find it in the Konami Cartridge list. Am I overlooking things? What's its product code?

Ganbare Goemon (Samurai) - RC-748 1987
Salamander - RC-758 1987 *
Game Master 2 - RC-755 1988 *
Pennant Race - RC-757 1988 *
Parodius - RC-759 - 1988 *
King's Valley 2 (MSX1) - RC-760 1988
King's Valley 2 (MSX2) - RC-761 1988 *
Konami's Game Collection 1 - RA-006 1989
