and while BiFi is thinking about that answer himself... here's the next question (at frigging last):
What were the names of the two men behind the Dutch demo group CAIN?

name all the challenges that have been organised by (and officially announced by) MRC.
MRC admins/mods/etc. aren't allowed to answer, but are allowed to confirm answers (actually I'd hope they do, since I even didn't check it myself ^___^) |

MRC Airwaves Challenge, Bombaman Challenge, MRC Bounce Challenge, IOMBCC, MRC Logo and Scroll Challenge, MRC MuSiXmas Challenge, MRC Oneliner Challenge, MRC Scene Music Remakes Challenge, MRC Snowfall Challenge, MRC Under Water Challenge, MSX in the Media Challenge 1 and 2
and for the answer of that gradius 2 demo version question people would've had more than enough time for to check the last 13 months ... you could've mentioned stuff like sharper sound for the lost continent (dinosaur) stage BGM, longer fire planet BGM, slightly different living planet BGM, very short end demo, different emergency demo (honestly I like this one better), demo mode has no sound whatsoever or the few graphical glitches |

Why did that demo version of gradius 2 ever see daylight, bifi? I'm curious.

Konami released many Sample versions of games, though restricted to stores for promotional purposes. For example the Solid Snake Sample cartridge contains the two intro demo's and the intro screen... The latter will scroll up a bit to make room for the promotional texts (as displayed in animated GIF format elsewehere in one of these threads. The Quarth Sample has some screens with how to play it and a promotional screen.
Vincent van Dam sent me the ROM image of a full demo version of Pennant Race 2 (quite some time ago already), which does a demo play using a script. You can't interrupt it at all. Same goes for a full demo version of F-1 Spirit 3D Special.
The Gradius 2 Sample version was done in such a way people could see the different stages and weapons in the stores by using function keys.
