But, I'll donate a hint: it has to do with the trackers they made.. one is different to the other 3 on 1 specific property.

SCC-Musixx is the only tracker that does... well... SCC

Meridian has a 16-part MIDI-approach, where a note in the tracker may or may not use more than one channel. Oh, and there's the deltasteptime stuff of course

FST pro has also MIDI ..

it's not the answer

the SCC was not what I was aiming for.. in fact: forgot about the chips..

No, it's Hayo.
FST uses horizontal input... the other don. . . AH DAMN, meridian does also.
Although Meridian has a very "strange" input mode, it's also the most recent tracker. So I'm betting on the Meridian coder

Another guess: Wolf_ never used an Hayo production, but he did play with the other trackers...

RMF megademo and RMF musicdisk1 were done with fst pro
At a certain point I could operate FST pro without a monitor, purely navigating on sound and memory..

Even though Meridian only displays 1 event, more events can be added to it...

SCC-MUSIXX is probably the only tracker wolfie mentioned he didn't make tunes on...

still not what I've been looking for.. (never released scc-musixx songs, dabbled a bit with it, but I didn't like it much)

Apart from that, I didn't mention scc-musixx in the question, so if I mention 'michiel spoor', it's also about protracker, not just scc musixx

+ the qustion is not related to me or any other composer
