now what's the correct instruction? ADD A,B (in the grid) or ADD A,C (below it)?

AFter converting this into a normal Sudoku one gets:
1.. ,8, ..3
... ,,5 96.
..5 3,6 1.2

6,8 .5. 2,7
,3, ... ,9,
9,7 .3. 4,6

5.3 2,1 7..
.16 4,, ...
4.. ,7, ..1

And then Sudoku Solver by Logic says: 'Invalid Sudoku'
(Or did I make a typo in the conversion?)

[edit]
Here's the above grid as text string to copy into the Sudoku solver as start grid:
1___8___3+_____596_+__53_61_2+6_8_5_2_7+_3_____9_+9_7_3_4_6+5_32_17__+_164_____+4___7___1

Arf ... I did have a typo in there: here's a better grid:
1.. ,8, ..3
... ,,5 96.
..5 3,6 1.2

6,8 .5. 2,7
,3, ... ,9,
9,7 .3. 4,6

5.3 9,1 7..
.16 4,, ...
4.. ,7, ..1

1___8___3+_____596_+__53_61_2+6_8_5_2_7+_3_____9_+9_7_3_4_6+5_39_17__+_164_____+4___7___1

Which unfixes my fix. as in: the first grid I posted is now is correct with respect to the puzzle and hence unsolvable

Unless the DAAs deceive me, the answer should be:
BC=#EADF

Here's the solution to the sudoku:
   | 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
---+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A | 1 6 9 2 8 4 5 7 3
B | 3 2 4 7 1 5 9 6 8
C | 8 7 5 3 9 6 1 4 2
D | 6 4 8 1 5 9 2 3 7
E | 2 3 1 6 4 7 8 9 5
F | 9 5 7 8 3 2 4 1 6
G | 5 8 3 9 6 1 7 2 4
H | 7 1 6 4 2 8 3 5 9
I | 4 9 2 5 7 3 6 8 1

The DAA deceived me. The answer is either DEAD or BEEF; I'll leave the real solution as exercise to the reader
