The second Golvellius game for MSX2 (it's NOT Golvellius 2!)

There exists an English version of this game, but it's not distributed yet (!). Check the press kit at www.bazix.nl to see what I'm referring to

Actually that is Golvellius 2... Though the screenswitching looks better on MSX2+ with its hardware horizontal scrolling registers.

No really -- it isn't Golvellius 2. There's no such thing. Do you see a "2" in there? Also, here's a little text regarding this:

Quote:

There was also a remake for the MSX2 (incorrectly called Golvellius 2 on some websites) that revamps the graphics to SMS level and completely recreates the MSX game's layout from scratch. There are other additions too, including some towns and (gasp!) the ability to walk diagonally. The Sega Master System of Golvellius actually borrows the most from this game - although the exploration stages are entirely different, the dungeons and bosses are very similar.

The game is officially called 'Shin Maou Golvellius' (the original Golvellius is just 'Maou Golvellius'), shin meaning as much as 'Real' here. I guess it does come closer to a remake than a sequel indeed, although it is clear to me that Compile was planning to make a true sequel, but in the end never did.

Indeed. That "to be continued" text filled me with sorrow, since I knew there wasn't a sequel.
