Now Tilburg is gone also, the msx-world is getting a bit smaller again.
It has been a very long time since there was any msx-movement in the north of the netherlands.
I am seriously thinking of starting a new msx-club or maybe a new (annual) msx-fair in Groningen.
With this forum-post i would like to know if there is a lot of interest for my idea here in the "north".
Please let me know if you're interested and also let me know where you live exactly.
I would really want such an idea to work.
It would be a great boost for the msx-scene!!!

I think ppl want it to be a bit more central .., think 'Bussum' .. that's very doable for nearly everyone. The north of NL isn't uninteresting tho, but even then Drenthe is more central then for the ppl coming from the south..

Without bragging about Devcon again, (^_^( "do you ever?", it's kinda a nice location, geographically. It's just that the cafe can't hold tenths of booths. Question is ofcourse whether a 'fair' (room with booths and products) is still required .. the recent fairs were more like socializing to me, rather than looking around for new stuff like around '92 '93 '94 '95 etc.

Living in Groningen myself, I'd say 'HELL YEAH!'

I think an MSX club approach, meeting a few times a year, is more realistic than creating a fair though...

Well, us northern MSX users have always been so nice to drive al the way to almost Belgium, so i see no reason why a good fair couldn't be held in Groningen or Assen or so. There are active MSX users enough in these regions.

Now that's a very good idea.

Is the old JAS-boerderij of MSX-GG-Groningen still available?

Ppl from the north had to travel to Tilburg, also not central tho...
But i went there (and Zandvoort), and with me a lot of ppl.

About this fair stuff, isn't one MSX-fair a year enough? I mean, is the active scene large enough to take the effort to organize a second fair?

It was in all previous years. As the MSX community grows bigger and bigger again, I personally think it's a great idea and initiative to organise a fair like that.

A fair in Groningen! Great idea, I'm in. If it is not too much for all those people from GVD (Groningen Vriesland & Drenthe) to fly over to Tilburg it can't be too much for them to get over to Groningen. Why not make it a one-time event?

GVD, Vriesland, lol

Well for GVD it's not a real problem to have a fair in G V or D .. I'm just hinting towards ppl from Utrecht, N.Brabant etc.
