SD-Snatcher (both R800 and from HDD)
Solid Snake (Snake sometimes walks damn slow on Z80)

I knew that Solid Snake could be played in R800 mode (pressing SHIFT) but, how to play SD-Snatcher in R800 mode?

1. Boot your MSX tR with "1" pressed down
2. Insert disk 1
3. Type:
10 A$="!a@-))TZ2":DEFUSR=32777! :IFD2THEN LINE>2COPY0LOADATTR$ELSEA=USR(0)
20 POKE &HF346,1:_SYSTEM
RUN

That's easy

Make diskimages of the disks using Michel Shuqair's GETDISK.COM, concatenate them:
copy /b SDSNAT1.DSK+SDSNAT2.DSK+SDSNAT3.DSK+SDSNATUS.DSK SDSNATCH.DSK
then run MAP.COM or MAPIT.COM, after that, START.COM SDSNATCH.DSK

HDD is the key here

Your MSX skills sucks, because you have been too long with PC's. (Don't take this seriously)

Correct command on MSX is CONCAT

NYYRIKKI:

Please refine them skills as 'MSX-DOS skills', not just 'MSX skills'

Anyhoo, I recall just now how I got one big disk image - forget the copy /b thing: GETDISK.COM does it by itself

But then again: NYYRIKKI's solution is the best, I assume. Weren't it for the obfuscation, it also works on an MSX without HDD. I worship you man! Peace!

Back to topic: I also run MSX Hot Numbers in R800 mode. Great thing, the game's sometime's a bit slow...

Peace brother!

I just must punish you people, who come and declare your computer using habits as facts about operating systems/computers, you don't know about or you just don't remember!

I punish you [D-Tail] because you are one of the MSX sources that people are used to rely on. U shall not make mistake U C, U know?

Out's are only for Panasonic MSX 2+ machines. For MSX tR, you need the use BIOS routine. I copy here the complete trick again:

10 A$="!a@-))TZ2":DEFUSR=32777! :IFD2THEN LINE>2COPY0LOADATTR$ELSEA=USR(0)

Change number after "LINE>" like this:
0 = Z80 (ROM)
1 = R800 (ROM)
2 = R800 (DRAM)

I tried that too, but I just can't make it work...

I just checked, and it works fine here... Check that you have spaces at correct locations, check that you have zero after COPY instead of "o"-letter etc. (This font sucks) Unlike typical BASIC programs, it is important, that it is written JUST as it is here.

I'll make copy&paste to a file and try it tonight...
By the way... does it turn on the R800 led too?

Maybe we should make a obfuscated R800 switching contest... ^_^

10 DEFINTA:DEFUSR=&H8020:A=USR(129):GOTO30
20 ##~!~ATIMECLOSEATTR$
30 POKE &HF346,1: CALL SYSTEM
128 = Z80, 129 = R800, 130 = DRAM

oh, mind you... doing something like A=USR(2422435) or A=USR("yourbigfatmama" ) will prolly crash

Back to topic: what games do you run in R800 mode?

o PA3
o The Lost World
o Realms of Adventure

Though the CPU mode doesn't really matter with those games... Only sometimes I experience a small speed-up in RoA, but then again, that's all
