MSD, semi-co-developer of Meridian sent me this MP3 recording taken with the current development version of Meridian, of which a new demo-version wilkl be released in the near future. If you want to hear how the OPL4 sounds compared to your own soundcard/MIDI equipment, use this MID file as a comparison. I think you'll agree that playing a standard MIDI file on Moonsound doesn't sound half that bad.
