CIF does work very well :-)
This is what I have done with a yellowed Sony HB-700 :

(on the right, the yellow color before cleaning)

BUT... now, the plastic is less "granulous"...

Of course CIF is a good polishment...

Why donīt paint it with a fancy color like black?

Not a bad idea ... I own a "collector" HB700 that stays in its original box, another one that also stays in a box and the one I have bought in 1987 (now with a V9958). Those MSX2 can't be sacrified, but I could try something with two others that are not in a very good state...
Well, that's fine, now, everybody knows I am the HB700 maniac

then you'll see it become white again due to dust... dark is well-spotted on light and light is well-spotted on dark.
