Hi,

I got to make some space and I'm looking to sell or trade my rare Philips NMS-801 pack.
It comes in the original box (althought the box is not in the best shape), the computer, the deck player, joystick and 3 tapes.

FuNET link

Any reasonable offer will be looked at (email). Otherwise I'll just ebay it

In this case

BSAVE"CAS:MSX1",0,&H7FFF

... is enough to save whole ROM.

So you don't need the 1.01 and 1.02 roms of the Al Alamiah AX170 anymore? That saves me a lot of trouble because I would need to find the 2 computers between 150 others.

Jazzy, thanks for your answer

I didn't know that your collection was so giant (although I know your site) ....

I have 2 roms extracted from the AX-170 - version 1.01 and have also sent them to Manuel : the main rom and the Arabic rom (that includes different applications); next version of blueMSX will include a MSX1 Arabic machine in the 'generic machines'

mars2000you: did you already find out the real layout of the slots of those machines? AFAIK that was the last thing we mailed about.

About NMS-801 Bios:
I've saved the bios in .ROM (sent to BlueMSX team), and all cassette programs in .CAS.
At start up NMS-801 says:

PHILIPS MSX
version 3.0

But "hidden" in some point of the rom there's:

MSX BASIC
Copyright 1983 by Microsoft

This doesn't appear in Basic environment...

Very strange...

Moreover, software on tape was not (c) by Philips, and I think Philips was not allowed to distribute it...

Sure is a strange computer, I wonder what's the story behind it. It came out later than the other MSX from Philips and was of much lesser quality (keyboard, no cartridge or printer port).

Looks like Philips had some spare parts they didn't know what to do with
