Eh, strange as may sounds, Latok is telling the truth: the RAM connected to the VDP is not SRAM (static RAM) but DRAM, dynamic RAM. Ordinary DRAM and not some rare dualported Videoram ICs.
In the MSX world the term SRAM often is used to indicate RAM that is kept powered by a battery to let the content survive powerdown. For example every MSX-2 and better (except the OCM

) has SRAM as standard in the RTC IC.
