I only has one technical question

what are the connections STB1/STB2 at the joystick connectors?

those are outputs?

i mean I knows as technician STB == strobe

but, IIRC I not remember that you can send data by means of joystick ports... and the joystick are input only devices.... is it standard?... how to use those lines?

those lines are connected directly to the S1985 chip.

The F1 spirit 3D Special link cable used the joystick port IIRC. So it must have been able to send.

Indeed they can send information. For example, when connecting a paddle (is this its name?) it is necessary to send an initialization pulse to the flip-flop and then check how does it take to change. Indeed, it does not involve much more than a potenciometer (right name?), a flip-flop and some other logic.

But yes, you can revert the joystick to send information rather than to receive it. Check the F1 Special cable or its further developmente, JoyNet.
