I have 2 questions:
1) Will it work in MSX1 machines?
2) If I connect an USB Pen drive in it, will I be able to boot with it (DOS2 or DOS1) (I mean, no need for a HD anymore, just use a Pen drive instead)?

Ah, that's a good question
It should, but DOS kernel embedded in USBorne BIOS is version 2.30, and I think it does not like MSX1 machines.

For USBorne BIOS there are not such things as pendrives or HDs, devices simply either are storage devices or they are not. You can boot from a HD, a pendrive, a SD card, a floppy disk, a ZIP disk, a digital camera, a MP3 replayer, or anything, as long as it acts as a standard storage device when connected to the USB port. |

I don't know DOS kernel so deeply to answer this... I just know that the 2.30 kernel boot code checks the MSX version and refuses to boot if MSX1 is detected. Removing this checking is easy, but I don't know it that would be enough. |

I think it should work if the msx has a mapper

As said it maybe from point of costing to use a chip for the memory instead of more. It would save money and space, since I assume that 4 MB chips are better to get than e.g. 8 chips of 64K that give 512

AFAIK, the only thing you need to run MSXDOS2 in MSX1 (provided that you have a mapper, of course) is remove the MSX1 checking. It was done here in Brazil by Adriano Cunha, that even managed to make a Sunrise IDE work in MSX1 (with DOS2).

Well, the main reason of a MSX1 for not running DOS2 is the lack of memory, but as Dumas comes with 512kb, it should boot up without problems, if the memory is correctly allocated.
By the way, Dumas works with expanded slots, does the MSX1 support expanded slots or just primary ones?

MSX1 has no problems with expanded slots. E.g. the Philips VG 8020/20 also has expanded slots. And many more MSX1 systems do.

As Manuel said, there's no problem with MSX1 and expanded slots. My Gradiente DDPLUS is a MSX1 machine and it has slots expanded.

Anyone knows when DUMAS is coming out??
It would be the PERFECT cartidge for my SVI-738 (w/ msx2roms & vdp9958).
512 kb memorymapper would be just fine for me, as I mostly only play games.
USB would be the ultimate solution to add flashcardreader or HDD for storaging games and other data.
The Ethernet is just simply too COOL.
I've been planning of adding memorymapper myself and buying sunrise flashreader, but should I wait for DUMAS??
