[The "MegaRAM" games alone cant be found anywhere else, and it was a huge contribution from almost every MSX user - and they are not "ROMz", they are binary games that can be loaded only with MegaRAM cartridge.]
nobody said they were ROMz. they are just WAREz. in file format.
[But most programs (for example) in my site were submitted by their creators (mostly the brazilian ones), or they wrote me saying that "keep the memory alive" was a good thing, and they aprove it.]
Sure. Gradius 1, 2, metal gear, king kong 2, king's valley 2, MOST creators of these certainly have said that, in your own personal world.
[And it's not only "warez", there is Shalom translation, there are the games I made/converted, game cheats, etc - much more than just "warez", too bad you couldnt see it.]
Yes, it's not only WAREz, there are HACKz too.

They are not warez. They are Brazilian-msx-versions created to run on MegaRAM; they were only found in Brazil and those versions were made by brazilian people. Try to run it on your turbo-R without a MegaRAM and all you will get is "MegaRAM missing".

Do me a favour, then, just ignore my site, and all my posts, ok?
As for Maziacs, allright, you have them for ages... here in Brazil noone ever heard of it, nor did we know about it. No "MSX warez" sites have it, not even funet, so that tells me it is rare. No matter how many copies you have under your bed

Sure, brazilian people programmed metal gear

the megaram games are the same megarom games in other format. another form of piracy and warez. it just requires another hardware, a cartridge made in brazil, designed for the sole purpose of playing pirate games.

Games ARE programs, fat boy.

Noone? Lots of people had maziacs in tape and disk. I have received mine for free from Aguia Informatica.
And I downloaded it again from baudejogos warez site 3 years ago, fatman, wich is a brazilian warez site.

Maziacs rare in Brazil? HA HA HA! In what world do you live, Slotman?
You can talk about the software/games you did. FINE! But stop disguiseing your warez as "normal" or "brazilian" software. Enough of hypochrisy

I don't understand your point.
About my problem... eh...
Warez sites cannot be posted here due to forum rules.
But it seems some warez sites are allowed
No credibility to forum rules

With all these posts, I am almost sure PRotieh is cbsfox's (Marcos Daniel) friend. It is the same kind of people. Only want to FUD, troll and flame others. Entered to my ignore vermin list.
Also, it doesn't matter what the software at MSX Files are or aren't. If even their true creator don't care or at least didn't 'till now, why would some moron like you care for this. I tell you: FUD. Some people can't shine even on small communities like MSX one, so they go give trouble to other, trying hypocritly to defend no one's rights, just to increase their own proud.

Thanks Chardson!
I was starting to think the same, that PRotieh was cbsfox's, and when he called me "fat boy", I was sure of it. From now on he can speak whatever he wants, I'm no longer replying to him... |

The problem is the associations with the word "warez"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez
I really don't feel SLotman's site is a part of that; of course, some of the software on the site is technically illegal - as far as that's concerned, I can't deny that, and I won't.
The term "abandonware", even if it's not used much together with MSX, would be much more appropriate:

As far as I'm concerned, the term abandonware was made up by people who want to make copying/downloading copyrighted classic software seem legal. I have bad news: it isn't. But that is all beside the point. Once again, it's about the MRC policies on linking to these software titles, whatever nametag you put on it. As for linking to sites that contain copyrighted software: we'd rather not, but you might have noticed that we don't link to -for instance- MSXFiles with 'download [name of game] for free now!', but we do link to MSXfiles when -again, for instance-, SLotman releases a nice game for MSX (loved that snowball game ^_^).
Simply put, the MRC is responsible for the contents of the MRC and the potential results that might follow out of legal actions. In the very early stages of the MRC we have made our guidelines and have sticked to it ever since. Even then, the contents of the MRC almost got us into legal trouble a couple of times. We have successfully defended our guidelines towards the Japan Computer Gaming Association, and although they don't agree completely with our point of view, it means a lot more to us that the people who are defending a large part of the copyrights we're most often talking about condone our activities, than the fact that there is a very small group of people who consistenly don't. You might not like our guidelines, the guidelines might not seem clear to you, but that is your problem, not ours. We are not enforcing our guidelines on other websites, we're only asking our visitors to stick by our policies on our website. In return, we can spend most of the time on focusing on the real and recent MSX activity and guarantee the MRC is here to stay for many, many, many years to come.

SLotman, your site has a lot of great contributions: original games, SG-1000 ports, the reciently released Infocom adventures... keep on your GOOD work. |
