Just downloaded here (www.funet.fi/pub/msx/music/mbm/) PMA-archive with Aleste music (according to filename), found PMext (unpacker for Windows), got MBM-file, finaly. But it can't be played with MSXplug
What's wrong? I'm in love with Aleste music and want to have it in original (not MP3) and not in game ROM (without sound effects, I mean). Please, help!

Maybe it is saved in "Edit" format. Try to open it in MoonBlaster and save it in "User" format.

nooooo, really? wasn't it something like having fun with your joystick in the intro screen to get it?

Thank you guys, I used soundtest, running openMSX on PC while recording it's sound to Mac I've also try fMSX WAV writer before, but it gives me 8 bit WAV and not so smoth sound. Guess, I'll applay some kind of tape saturator VST plugin (and may be easy reverb) to get nice sound

By the way, is there "sound test" mode in Vampire Killer?

The only Konami titles I know which have some sort of sound test are Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake (select cigarettes and tune into 140.07 on your transceiver) and King's Valley 2 has music stages where you can listen to all music in the game (in stage 7, lower screen, jump in the top left, a small pyramid will appear and after a while it will open an entry to the music stage... there are 5 more stages which have a music stage entry).
