The Lightpen should in theory work with my TurboR, it doesn't!!

System configuration :-
Panasonic TurboR + various expansions
Sanyo MLP001 Lightpen
Samsung 710MP TFT Monitor

The lightpen needs a composite Video output, also, the TFT monitor is not compatable with the lightpen, as far as I know. since there is no beam for it sense? Does anyone have any experiences doing this ?

I thought the MSX2+ didn't have lightpen support?

TFT is the problem for sure. The same happens with lightguns such as Sega LightPhaser or MHT Gunstick: they do not work on TFT screens. The problem? The light sensor included in such devices, that expects a stroboscopic light of 50-60 Hz. The same goes for PC monitors and VGA doublers, even if it is a CRT screen.

Bad luck

Hi djh1697,

have you already sold your Lightpen?
If not, would you sell it to me?

of course you can use the lightpen unit on a turboR. AFAIK the lightpen support of the V9938 isn't used on MSX anyway, just like its mouse support for that matter.
