Hi all,
I got hold of a photo from the Philips VG-8240, thanks to Philip Weiss!
It seems it's basically a 8230 with superimpose. But I think it's very weird that it doesn't have the "MSX2" logo! It just says MSX!
It may very well be one of the very first MSX2 prototypes anyway.
Here's the picture:
I also scanned this picture of it once, in which the superimpose was probably used to display video content from CD-ROM on it (a bit like the laserdisk player setups from Pioneer and Sony):

The case is not like the 35 becourse no cooling strips at the top.

But then, NMS only came with the 8250, 8255, 8245 and 8280. The 8230 and 8235 were both VGs. Of course you were probably joking. Has anyone noticed the subtle underlining of the word "Philips"? |

It's not an underlining - it's an outset metal sticker ... Which is available on the 8245 also. But hey, the [CLR/HOME]-key doesn't seem right to me... |

And the '40 would be right between the '35 (VG) and the '45 (NMS), so it might as well have been an NMS instead of VG :-) |
