But they will remain without any answer and Aiky will remain a mystery
Anyway, for the lucky owners of Guru Logic, here the cheats for blueMSX :

Don't worry, Aiky is still there... just seems their server is down at the moment. As the copyrights and trademarks to the (concept of) Guru Logic belong to Aiky, it's up to them to allow or disallow the distribution of the TeddyWareZ and Robsy versions of the games, and in this case Aiky has disallowed it. Like it or not, I don't expect it to change in the future.

That's what I was supposing (about the Aiky server). For the rest, if they have still the intention to release a commercial version of this game for MSX, many MSX fans should appreciate that the freeware versions should be added as bonus in the package.
But of course I'm a dreamer as apparently bizness and passion in this case seem to be enemies, what I deeply regret.

Don't forget that the 'commercial' version of Guru Logic is a product of passion as well, of which the initial release of TeddyWareZ' port formed the basis. As Aiky's quality control is on a fairly high level, I can imagine they don't want to add the TwZ version...
congratz on the 1000 posts, by the way |

You're right about the TeddyWareZ and I guess that the eventual future Aiky version can be viewed as an extended version of this version, including more animations and surprises, with the goal to approach the quality of the original product, released on another platform.
But what about the real challenge of the Robsy MSX1 version, as we know that programming on a MSX1 with his limitations requires real programming talents ? And apparently Robsy has proven that, it looks like Aiky is afraid of that .... "What ? A MSX1 version ? Impossible !!!" ..... but it's possible, even if you can't compare with the Aiky high-level. So, from my point of view, if we forget the copyright's problem, there is a question of 'amour propre', of pride.
P.S. Thanks for the comments about my 1000 posts ... I'm on the way to 1025 posts |

The matter of the MSX1 version of Robsy is not a matter of appreciation, it's a matter of rights. If you have the demo version of MSX Magazine 2 (or attended Devcon/Bussum), you can see that the MSX2 (Aiky) version is a true work of coding art as well. Having seen Aleste 2, you just should know Aiky have an eye for quality and coding skills.
However, as both Robsy and TwZ did not have the right to distribute Guru Logic for MSX, both versions were removed from the internet on request of Aiky. Of course, Aiky have shown their appreciation for the TwZ version of GLC by asking TwZ to initiate a project for a 'proper' port, but they also made it very clear that further distribution of the TwZ version would not be appreciated. Although members of the GLC team and Bernard Lamers (representing Aiky) tried to warn Robsy about the fact that Aiky was very likely not to allow distribution of the MSX1 version (in -admittedly- not always the best possible way, sometimes even far from it) the unpleasant situation which we all probably know about arose... I think that matter has been discussed more than enough by now, however...

It's not my intention to discussion that again and you have just made a very good historic summary about this game. There were probably misunderstandings at certain moments from some people and I use only the word 'misunderstanding' to avoid long explanations (and interpretations) that are, finally, more boring than useful.
Let's hope that the Aiky version will be released some day (maybe in 2006 ?) and that everyone can appreciate this game with all his puzzles (the cheat gives only infinite time, you must still resolve the puzzle !) |

More cheats for Guru Logic MSX1 version
!cheats for blueMSX :guru logic msx1
!(c) 2005 Benoît Delvaux
0,49634,0,0,infinite time
0,49650,0,0,level (0-17)
In the last cheat, the value 0 can be replaced by a value between 0 and 17; so, you can access to one of the 18 levels without using a password.

BTW, I'm very curious about that Guru Logic (woa, a new commercial MSX game!). Some questions for the people involved in the project:
- Is Aiky planning to do more things on MSX if the thing succeed? (hope yes )
- What is the real state of the progress of the game today?.
- Now Patriek Lasparre has left the project, who's the main programmer of the game?. Is there any progress on the coding since GuyveR800's ban?.
- When the game could be released (aprox)?.

I doubt people involved in Aleste 2 are workin' on this MSX port, snout |

Aiky is certainly planning to do more things on MSX if this projects succeeds. It is, however, not a secret that development has been stalled for a while. It's a sad thing, as the game itself is very close to a final state. I can give no indication of if and when the project will be finished, but as far as I'm concerned the project isn't dead yet.
viejo: I gather that you have discussed the project situation with Patriek Lesparre, but sadly I have to disappoint him. Although I have given him permission to use my music and contacts in order to complete the game after all, the game is an Aiky project, not a TNI project. As the project was going before all the fuzz, GLC was very likely to become a TNI release, published by Aiky, but this no longer is not a certainty, especially not since many things have changed. The request to develop a proper MSX port of the game was given to Frederik Boelens (chaos) and me by Aiky and Aiky - not Patriek - is to decide on the future of the project.
As Patriek has not responded to the offer of finishing the project on his own for over a year, and has -as far as I know - not done any development on the project for about 18 months we might have to look into other solutions.

Well, anyway... reading your final words I understand that the project has been a year stopped |
