| | GhostwriterP msx addict Posts: 313 | Posted: June 10 2006, 12:26   | What rom type do I need to select to run a 48 Kb ROM in BlueMSX?
(I should have never played with the original settings ) | | BiFi msx guru Posts: 3142 | Posted: June 10 2006, 12:41   | if you mean the cure, it should be in the softwaredb.xml so bluemsx should be abole to detect it... otherwise update the file with the one in the openMSX CVS archive I sent you a few days ago.
| | mars2000you msx master Posts: 1723 | Posted: June 10 2006, 12:43   | Which game do you want to play ?
Normally, the autodection system of blueMSX will see a 48kb ROM as a 'Mirrored Rom'. This type includes actually the Normal or Standard rom (start at 0x000).

The Cure will be in version 2.5 of the blueMSX database. Version 2.4 was released in september 2005, so before The Cure release. But the blueMSX autodetection works really good, also with this game | | GhostwriterP msx addict Posts: 313 | Posted: June 10 2006, 12:57   | I got "syntax error in 0" a minute ago, no matter what rom type I selected. However
after a few restarts of blueMSX it works again.
| | mars2000you msx master Posts: 1723 | Posted: June 10 2006, 13:02   | Generally, you get 'syntax error in 0' when you try to run a BASIC rom (start at 0x8000) as a Normal or Mirrored rom. The best in this case is to remove all the rom, dsk and cas files from the emulator, to close it and to restart it first without any files. After a good booting, then you can insert a game and make a reset.
| | BiFi msx guru Posts: 3142 | Posted: June 10 2006, 13:03   | I rather not rely on autodetections since the development versions of Palette Editor always got mirrored to all pages in stead of just the page where it should be in, resulting in another Palette Editor start just after it was stopped. Of course release versions are present in the software database.
