hmmm indeed, I know MWP (turboR MIDI) and SAWP, but both don't support the Philips Musmod. I am quite sure there was a SMF player for MSX-DOS that did support the Music module tho...

I'm very sure of that too... years ago I had a CM32L and I used that in the same way as I want to use the SC55 now. The tool exists, but I can't remember the name of it

Maybe, but I've never used that software. It was just an axecutable (.com) for use from the command line.

IIRC Channel Pressure was indeed an SMF player.
Older PC sound cards had connector on which you could place a so-called 'daughterboard'. I think Channel Pressure was sold together with an interface for MSX on which you could place such a daughterboard.

Other SMF replayers I know of: "Total Replay" and "C-Quensr", neither of those is cmd-line tho.

I only know Channel Pressure of an article in MCCM... is public domain nowadays? If yes, where to get it?
