MEMTR compatible with 1MB external memory mapper Digital KC ?

I have bought a standard A1-ST (256Kb) and now I want to use my 1MB external mapper (Digital KC serialnr 138) with this turboR.
When I plug it in, the starup screen displays 1280 Kb main ram.
This means it is recognized by the ST. So far so good.
MEMTR startsup fine and recognizes both the internal and the external memory mapper. The program shows in which slots the mappers are, but when the program chooses the biggest mapper it just 'hangs'.
Does anyone know what could be the problem ?
Maybe this mapper isn't suitable for use with a turboR ?

internal memory is the prefered memory for a turbo r, because it is much faster. Normally the biggest mapper becomes the primary mapper, but not on a Turbo r. I would try to expand the internal memory to 512KB (1MB would be nicer but it harder to do)

MSD, MemTR solves exactly that problem, see?... so it does seem the Digital KC expansion is not fit to do this job indeed :/

aha.. okay. but still . expending internal memory is the best thing to do on a turbo r

Maybe someone who also has this mapper can try if it acts the same ?
Thanx !
