IMHO The best music for a game will IMHO be music that IMHO fits into the atmosphere of said game. IMHO Do not go for music that IMHO can be played solo as well (on CD for instance) - I have listened to IMHO plenty of game music soundtracks and although IMHO the music is great, IMHO not all of it is suitable for listening to outside of the game.

IMHO This applies mostly to action games and shooters in particular.

In a fast level I'd use Modern/trance or techno style. Maybe some classics housed up. Maybe you could change the style of music each level!

like if you hear the music you see the gradius shooter in your mind
