Well, we are still waiting for MSXdev'06 news, but while we wait, the Karoshi Forum Boards has opened a MSX-BASIC contest, where you can get an edition of The Complete MSX Programmers Guide by Toshiyuki Sato, Paul Mapstone, Isabella Muriel.

Just easy, you have a month to create a MSX-BASIC 1.0 game!. For more detailed information about the contest rules, you can check both the english or spanish forumpost at the boards.

Good luck!

I have a copy (two copies actually!), somewhere, of the "Complete MSX Programmers Guide", it was an invaluable book in my early days of MSXing. Indeed it makes an excellent reference guide still! I would consider it to be the BASIC equivalent of the "RED Book" published by Avalon software.

Still the challange sounds a great idea, get my thinking cap on come up with some new ideas, MSX1 basic without a machine code, apart from BIOS routines, that could be a challange!
