I've been doing this quite a lot lately... You may have read the 'Who am I' story on the Delta Soft Collection CD or in one of the later MCWF newsletter. This story will partially cross what I write here. Well, here we go:

I'm BiFi and in real life I react to the name Albert Beevendorp as well. I'm born in 1972 in the city I still live in, Purmerend. My MSX experience starts in 1984 when my father bought a GoldStar FC-200 with the 737 flight simulator. Even for a boy like me (yep, I was once a boy) it was weird to toy around with a flightsim, so soon afterwards the first cartridge was bought... The worldfamous Rollerball. When an acquantance of mine played it for the first time he got a score I finally broke quite some years later.

The first 2 years were mainly playing games and slowly starting programming in basic what I learned by the many listings published in the magazines like the dutch MSX-Gids and MSX Computer Magazine. Later I got my own MSX, the Toshiba HX-10 and continued to play and program on that one. I started to buy games myself which started with King's Valley I played at my coussin's place. Since then I bought every Konami title that was reviewed in the MSX-Gids and thus my collection started.

I started programming in assembly in 1988/1989. Weird thing to start with though, bit shifting, but I started to get the hang of it. Made some very nice routines that weren't good enough for release. The first MSX fair I attended was the third MSX fair in Zandvoort and since then I went to Zandvoort every year. I later started to attend the Tilburg fair as well, but that was few years later. I became a member of MSX-Club West-Friesland in april 1993 and started to write articles about programming in basic and assembly and a few hardware articles. Later I became the club's coder and editor in chief of the magazine.

In 1999 I finally my way to the world wide web and started to work on my own page, meet new people using email, ICQ and IRC and started to help other people code and stuff...

Currently, I'm considered an MSX guru knowing a lot about Konami and helping other people/groups like Chaos of TeddyWareZ and Delta Soft with solving their problems concerning programming. The hopefully soon to come online MSX Assembly Page (founded by Chaos, d-fader and myself, maintained Chaos, Grauw and myself), wrote some articles for the MCCW and joined the MRC for which I made the IRC bot for.

Apart from coding, I can make music on MSX and do some pixelling as well, but the latter aren't as good as the coding part, so I'll stick to release programs and not my own graphics and music... When I release either music or graphics it's a rare moment.

That's about it for now...

Hmm... and 1.99q doesn't anymore?

Then wait for the next release to come up. You'll sure love that one.

BiFi is really an human MSX encyclopaedia ... he knows so many things, can give fast answers to very technical answers, is a great Konami specialist and a great contributor to the development of advanced emulators (openMSX and blueMSX) and a freeware bios (C-BIOS) ... Probably I've forgotten some things .... BiFi, excuse me for the omissions
