I guess you're all just a little bit too impatient As you may or may not have gathered from now, quite an improved OCM is planned to be produced. Several, if not all, of the improvements have already been mentioned in MRC newsposts. MSXA aims to produce the OCM without setting a new minimum amount of pre-orders set. In case of 5,000 OCM computers at a sale price of 189 euro's (ex shipping), please try to imagine the amount of money involved. Given the fact the first pre-order round went a bit less succesful than expected, I think it makes sense that MSXA is a bit more careful on a second attempt. I'd rather have the whole thing succeed a month or two later than expected than miserably fail a month earlier. It's been more than 10 years since MSX computers were produced anyway ;P. As soon as there's news, you'll be the first to know.

Snout, of course it is a matter of MSXa willing to sell or not. But a product like that should ALREADY be on the market by ages! A MSX1 is very easy to instatiate on a FPGA and, if MSXa doesn't take the (nice) position of selling that, someone will sell it for sure. If MSXa want to live by the licensing of the MSX trademark, the BIOS and like, it should create interest on the business making more MSX hardware avaiable at a fair price and good avaiability. I'm hearing about this one-chip-msx for more than a year. Tell me, what is the problem of getting a pile of CHEAP off-the-shelf components, soldering on a board and selling that at a huge price?!?

"Miss Leonowens, in Siam you'll soon find out that everything has its own time"

(Anna and the King, 1999)

That's the problem here! It's those Asians with their meditation-smoke and their new-age dolphins all the way. It will be done, but not in your time... it will be done in their time.
