Hey I just thought that I would introduce myself and ask a few questions here. Im from canada and I have finally aquired a msx system the yamaha CX5M, its just he main unit nothing else but its boxed and complete manual and all and is pretty as the day it was made. by the looks of it never used.

But I would like to change that. but dont know where to begin or know nothing about it. so if anyone has any helpful hints for me please let me know.

And also if theres a good online store to aquire software and hardware for the unit.
besides ebay.

I know how to program in pascal and im a musician.

But have never turned this on. and wont till im more educated on the unit and what i need to get (besides the synth keyboard) to get me going good.

Anyways this looks like a nice community and im glad I found it.

I've also made a "syntheziser emulator" routine to play FM-PAC instruments with CX5M synth keyboard. :-)

Ive got a CX5M also. I use it with a big Yamaha MIDI Setup (a DX7, DX9, TX216, RX11, REX50, QX21, YMC10, and a MSS1. The CX5M stuff is incredibly hard to come by from my limited experience. About the only way to get the cartridges is to buy CX5M's that happen to have one your looking for. Almost cheaper than buying them seperately when you do find them.
