Tssss if you compare b-movies like Escape from LA and Rambo with a possible Metal Gear movie some people have missed the strong points of the game. I know Kojima was inspired by the Kurt Russell movies, but MG(S) games have more (better!) stories than those movies, and are less about bullet-mayhem and more about being a sneaky bastard.

John Carpenter's Escape movies are not all about the bullets and "call me snake" Plissken has a lot more character than that Rambo dude

In general, I don't think 20hours of gameplay can be compared to 90minutes of watching a movie. I like the stories of the MG(S) a lot, and especially the story behind Metal Gear Solid. But I am convinced that I enjoyed it that much because I wasn't just consuming, but I was also part of the story and because I was interacting with the elements that made that story. A movie can't give that experience.

Also, consider the Final Fantasy movies; both movies are great (imho). But story wise, they don't come close to the multilayered stories that are present within the final fantasy games. Still, it doesn't make the movies bad; it's just a shorter experience with less room for twists.

Who knows what the Metal Gear movie will bring; I'll definately want to see it. I expect it will be an action movie targeted for a large audience, who knows how much of those "better" stories are left within that movie.

Well, if they really shoot the metal gear movie I hope they put some original MSX music in it... changes will be zero but the idea is neat...

I will find it more than likely that Harry Gregson-Williams would be hired for the score, MGS has very little to do with the MSX versions, especially in terms of musical style.
