I don't think the IPS patch will work on that MGS3 subsistence version

I'm definately gonna get that one though, since for me it's THE way to acquire legit copies of the original Metal Gear games (unless I become a millionaire and can win an auction on ebay )

I think they changed the faces in Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, like they did in the mobile phone version. So you might still want to get the real originals one day.

umm, yeah, slightly off-topic -- but I played MG again, yesterday. For the first time in my life I did it without cheat codes such as 'anta wa erai' and 'intruder' (what a shame, uh!). But as I approached Coward Duck in order to obtain ID#8, I accidentally shot Jennifer's brother between the eyes. As a result, I lost a star, some life and ammunition. It left me with 15 P-bombs, too few to defeat Metal Gear ... Question: what to do in such a case? I typed 'anta wa erai' and refilled my stock, but there should be some more elegant way

Just for the record: I took the middle stairs to complete the game
