hello!
I have obtained a MSX1 Yamaha CX5MII/128 with RGB output. I'm trying to make it running at 60hz with a MSXDOS1 disk with 60hz.com but this program doesn't seem to work out. The message is "bad command or filename". So I don't know if it is possible to view my MSX1 at 60hz or that the program I use (60hz.com) is only for DOS2 or MSX2...
thanks.

EDITED!!: Now it works. The autoexec.bat file was bad edited... sorry folks. Keep enyoing MSX!!

Actually it only works because this MSX1 model has a V9938 built in. Most MSX1 lacks the possibility to select the frequency and have different VDP depending on wether it is a 50 or 60hz machine.

No, CX5M and SVI-738 are only MSX1 models with V9938.

manuel, you're right. I have two CX5M and they have TMS-9918 (or perhaps 9928 I forgot).

Actually, that CX5M/II is almost an MSX-2 machine. It just lacks

  • 112k VRAM (it has 16 instead of 128)
  • clock chip
  • MSX2 ROMs

Same goes for my SVI-738. But he cool thing is that the CX5MII/128 has a 128kB memory mapper But that is not required for MSX2.
