I already searched for a DIN RGB/audio cable for the TurboR at different places and shops but without any success. I even found a 7pin DIN RGB/audio cable, but with the wrong size. Does anyone know, where it is more easy to find one?
What kind of 256KB chip do I have to use to extend the wave table memory of the "Philips Music Module"? And where do I get it? Just want to watch "Unreal Reality" without any limitation Is it a good idea just to remove the internal Rom chip? (don't want to press escape everytime when I am booting). |

I made my own DIN cable. It's either that or have someone make one for you. But getting the right plug was more difficult than I expected because 8 pin DIN plugs are not very common. The local electronics shop was the only store I could get one (and they had two different versions). Apart from that, just follow the schematics.

Indeed, I was assured several times such a connector did not exist! I never was able to find one in the stores, and later maimed an old stereo to get my hands on one... |

If you are not interested in using the internal software, you can remove it. It will not affect the working of the Philips Music Module - apart from the fact that the internal software will not work, of course |

OH, and there's even an English version here:

Like many hardware projects this is listed on my DIY Enhancement page on the MSX Info pages and is the way that file ended up on that archive (thank you Omega!).
How to build a turboR DIN cable is also on that page. The 8 pin DIN plug is available e.g. at www.conrad.de |
