There are very few games that were actually released in two languages. I don't know any, actually. But there are a lot of Konami games that display Japanese on a Japanese MSX and English on non-Japanese MSXes. The game itself is identical, though. Also, there were some fan-translations of Japanese games, which are also listed on Generation MSX.

So you are saying that some Konami games, even if they weren't released in Europe still feture English text if played on a non Japanese MSX?
How do I set BluMSX to be in a non Japanese MSX mode?

I build a list of games on the former Funet archive some time ago: to make proper 00index.txt files. The source file is in excel-format:
www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/docs/funet.xls
Used lots of info of other people.
Maybe it helps a bit.... |

ReyVGM: most Konami games that were not released in Europe also have no English at all.
And I don't know about blueMSX, but there's an expert here, named mars2000you.
Just select a non-Japanese MSX model, I suppose. Try e.g. The Maze of Galious in both. But you can be sure that no software house makes both a Japanese and English version without shipping outside of Japan.
(Although it's weird that Hydlide 2 is Japanese only and Hydlide 3 is both English and Japanese... they suddenly expected to ship outside of Japan after all?) |
