it's based on a part of some anime (which I haven't seen). I kinda got an idea of what it's about that way but even with that info it remained a tad vague.

AFAIK, in Japanese tradition firebird (also known as Phoenix) is a kind of god, the mother of every live creatures, and it is used in a LOT of various anime (the most popular is "Hi no Tori 2772 – Ai no Cosmozoon", a.k.a "Space Firebird" ), books, etc.

In russian fairy tales firebird also exists, but it's just a magic shining bird that can give you happiness if you catch it. Not a mega-super-power-unbeatable-goddess as japanese see it.

Don't worry about that, a written translation is good for now.
Others will re code the game with new text inserted. except for the "graphical" texts....

ok.. I think its pretty easy to get the such a translation ... I dont think firebird has many text to translate ... so, I think I'll work on it
so first thing we have to do is take a screenshots for all of the japanese text in the game

Firebird indeed has a very limited amount of text. I looked into it once. Difficulty would be in placing the text in the romfile. Texts are stored using MTEs with not much empty space. So it'd require some more than just script insertion...

Oh and Ro, the "graphical" texts as you call them are extremely easy to alter in this game if you want to...
