So I just noticed Eggerland 2 was released for the MSX too (I thought it was MSX2 only).
Now I gotta ask, why are there some boxes that say "Eggerland 2" in plain English and some others say "Meikyuu Shinwa" in japanese?
Was the game released in Europe or something?
I noticed the boxes that say Eggerland 2 have the MSX and MSX2 logo and the ones that say Meikyuu Shinwa have the MSX2 logo only.
Does that mean that the MSX version (also playable on the MSX2) is called Eggerland 2 and the MSX2 only version is called Meikyuu Shinwa?
Here are some images of the differences (at the bottom):

Eggerland 2 runs on both MSX1 and MSX2, on MSX2 it uses adjusted colors. Both are the same rom images. (look at the box in the link, msx and msx2)

Yeah I noticed the color differences.
But I want to know about the names, is the MSX & MSX2 version called Eggerland 2 and the MSX2 only version called Meikyuu Shinwa?
Or was there an European release called Eggerland 2?
Hey, java lolo hehe

I have an Eggerland 2 cartridge with English cartridge sticker/box/manual. I take it that's the European release (got it on ebay). It's the same ROM as the Japanese one...both are the same game that runs on MSX1 and 2 (with adjusted colors)

Samor as I said
ReyVGM it's not Java but JavaScript (big difference )
Those are the same roms, just try playing what you call the MSX2 only game in an MSX1
One is a Japanese name and the other one English (well sort off) |

Hmmm seeing that Toki Tori is listed as clone shouldn't Eggbert then there also be listed.
ANd I don't see TOki Tori or Eggbert as a Eggerland clone.
Actually I think Compjoetania's Pixess (also MSX ) is probably much more close !!

yes.. nearly all of the European (meaning localized Japanese) MSX carts also just have their speed lowered to match the PAL frequency... so, you have the borders, and the music is slower. In some cases it messed up the game's speed (Vampire Killer is a good example of that).
Konami's European MSX manuals look like B&W copy paper. Someone who didn't know about them even thought they were fake manuals... that's how poor they look
