Any news, Prodatron?

Currently I am again working on it, and I already can play MP3s nearly perfect now. But I still have some synchronisation problems. Hope I can fix them today (I am also in contact with Dennis)

Works now in SymAmp, absolutely cool!! We found a problem with the buffer status bit - I read it too fast again after uploading data to the card, so it still showed "buffer nearly empty" - but when you wait more than 1 VBlanc before reading it again, it's updated and everything works great.
Will try to upload a video in the evening (would like to add some stuff first like the spectrum analyzer).

Spectrum Analyzer works now, too (but the level on the left side [bass I guess] is always much higher than on the right, hm... anyway looks already nice). So wait for the video which I will upload tonight

Why do you need a spectrum analyser? Sir Clive Sinclair himself said the Speccy was 3-4 time more powerful than the MSX

Ah, I see, and of course I understand your objection. But no, this is not a stone age analyzer but something else

How works SymAmp with MP3 and other apps opened? I mean if it doesn't affect to the overall system.

Here is the first video:

The TurboR runs in R800 mode, so if you are interested I will also add a Z80 mode video later. Some words about it:
- at the beginning you see DDs/Yobis MP3 player before SymbOS is booting (my MP3 init routine doesn't work yet, so I have to start PLAYINFO first)
- SymbOS boots a little bit strange, as I had to change the priority of the system manager task to make loading smooth during screen operations
- the system is a little bit unstable at the moment (either because of bugs in SymAmp or bugs in the 1MB version of SymbOS); because of this I had to hide SymAmp while showing the video player
Anyway I hope you enjoy it (and Wolfs Metal Gear remix is included, too )

Of course it slows down the system. It depends on the kbps rate of the MP3. In R800 mode it's not a big issue at all, but on the normal MSX the additional CPU usage is about 25% for 128kbps MP3s, 35% for 192kbps MP3s etc.
Ok, I will add another video about Z80 mode later

I notice there is another piece of hardware sitting on your desk during that video - Is that a hint towards the future? Cool video by the way

\o/ Metal Gear tube-penetration tour 2007 \o/

The whole funny bit about SymbOS is that it'll run as smooth as an eel in a bucket o' slime once it runs on a faster computer. Usually, first the hardware comes, then the software. In this case the software is ready for any future MSX to come, it seems.
