aurora: thanks to the link manuel posted, i've noticed you msx guys are apparently well versed in grabbing atari graphicians (btw- nice to see exocet on msx )

I'm not coming empty handed. I'd like to show our current project. But not until it has reached a certain stage. I won't be attending meetings until then...

Perhaps a play-test at some meeting would be a good idea. But I lack the hardware for that (I only have a laptop and MSX emulator on my GBA). Any sponsors?

But it's not forbidden to just come by as visitor, not everyone needs to have a booth with content..

to get a better impression of the outline party, you might want to have a look at this video impression of last year's event (apologies for quicktime format in advance):

"Outline'06 Hazy Recollections" by "CiH"
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=28357

any questions about the party? please shoot

manuel, i was referring to exocet's gfx in the msx 20th anniversary demo which i found on googlevideo thanks to your link:

exocet started as an atari graphician back in the 90's, and i knew he has also worked on platforms like amiga, pc, c64, oric and zx spectrum- see http://exocet.untergrund.net/ - but his msx involvement was (a very nice) surprise to me

havoc: do you have any game-style gfx somewhere to show? All those chicks on your lineout page are all nice, but not very practical for MSX games.. (not to mention we'd simply convert such pics using Photoshop these days) Can you draw anime?

wolf_, what?! you msx-ers don't like strippoker games with vallejo babes? damn... ok seems my evil plan to recycle my mid-90's atari gfx catalogue can be put back on the shelf then

as for game gfx.. i guess the only freeware game i've worked on that runs on any emulator must be RG's "SuperFly" ( http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=8535 )- but my contribution was relatively minor in this case. other than that, i could show the falcon games listed on our homepage, and my work directory ofcourse.

but none of that contains any manga. i guess i could probably learn or teach myself the style somehow, but chances are that it'd take years before any useful results would emerge :/

Have you seen what some MSX-sceners have made, regarding MSX games? Or did you only watch MSX-demos?

i watched demos mostly so far indeed- it's so much easier to hide from customers, colleagues and bosses than playing games

but scene-produced games are interesting too ofcourse. i'm not quite sure what to expect, but if it's anything like the atari scene games, i'm probably in for a treat(?)

havoc, I'm not sure at all this is actually exocet's work. It could be something similar or something 'borrowed' from him as well, the demo doesn't credit him, but Spooky. So, I guess it's just Spooky who made or borrowed it.
